_This scenario is refered to the scenario "Poselok No.5" of Playstation's game "Panzer Front bis", and should be played as the German side. (The original is played as the Russian side.)*
*
_Historical Background:*
_On 12 January 1943, Soviets launched an offensive to cut the German bottleneck blocking Leningrad from the south.*
_They attacked from both east and west sides, and pressed the German front line gradually. It seemed that Soviet strike forces would join together at Poselok No.5. That meant the 227th and 96th Divisions near Lake Ladoga would be isolated.*
_On 14 January, two regiments of the Huhner's 61st Infantrerie Division was sent to contact with the troops in Shlisselburg and Lipka. But Russian's attacks with two rifle divisions and two tank brigades were fierce. It was unlikely that the small and weak 61st Division would keep contact to the north. *
_In the early morning on 17 January, the headquarters of the 18th Armee decided that the troops near Lake Ladoga would retreat and a new main front would be built on Sinyavino highground. *
*
_Player Note*
_Your orders are as follows: *
1. Secure Poselok No.5 until the withdrawal from the direction of Lake Ladoga is completed. *
2. Back away immediately after finishing picking up withdrawal units. You may abandone Poselok No.5. *
3. Hold the way to Sinyavino. The situation is critical. In some cases, you have to use withdrawl units right away. *
4. There's a victory exit hex on the road to Sinyavino. You can get victory points when your men exit from there. Remember our rule in a battlefield. You never leave the wounded.*
